Happy Valley Parks & Recreation Foundation is committed to providing an inclusive experience for everyone. Financial needs-based scholarship assistance is available to qualifying individuals for many recreation programs. Our goal is to remove financial barriers for Happy Valley residents with limited financial resources.

Please summit a completed application and all required supporting documentation. Incomplete applications are subject to rejection.  Income will be verified. Applications are available at the Happy Valley City Hall, The Happy Library, or download from our website at hvprf.org.

 

Eligibility is based on household income and the number of people living in the household. Total household income cannot exceed the 2022 Federal Poverty Guidelines. The maximum yearly income for 1 person is $13,590. Add $4,720 for each additional person. (Example. For a family of 4, the maximum yearly income would be $27,750).

 

If you have no income or have any other special circumstances, please describe your situation in a written statement and submit it with your application. All decisions by the Happy Valley Parks & Recreation Foundation will be final.

 

An adult or legal guardian in the household must complete the application and is responsible for providing accurate information and current documentation. The definition of legal dependent is a son, daughter, grandchild or foster child who lives with you more than half the year.

 

Applicants must live within the Happy Valley City limits (Having a Happy Valley zip code does not guarantee you live in the city).  Verify if you live within the Happy Valley city limits. Happy Valley must appear on the jurisdiction line to verify you live within the city limits. All applications will be verified before scholarships can be awarded.

 

You may submit your application at any time; however, allow a minimum of 2 weeks for processing prior to registering for any activity. Applications along with eligibility documentation can be submitted to our secure email or via US Postal Service to our PO Box or by dropping off at the Happy Valley City Hall or the Happy Valley Library. All applications and associated material will be kept confidential.

Once approved, a scholarship is valid for one year. Please present your Award Letter to the recreation vendor when you register for the program. The Scholarship is for a maximum of 75% of the registration fee. You will be responsible for 25% of the fee payable to the recreation vendor. Individuals have a yearly maximum award not to exceed $200. Families have a maximum yearly award not to exceed $1000 per family, Applicants must reapply annually to be considered for renewal. Renewal cannot be guaranteed as your household situation and the Foundations resources may change. Unused funds cannot be carried forward. Scholarships are awarded based on available funds and at the sole discretion of the Happy Valley Parks & Recreation Foundation. All decisions are final.
